Gathering

What data you collect and how you gather it sets the foundation for your entire project. Your project design should be focused on your core project objectives and central research questions.  The data you collect should make your investigation measurable.

Cleaning

Careful and detailed cleaning allows you to analyze your data with precision.  Mindful data gathering will help reduce the amount of cleaning time required.

Analyzing

Accurate data analysis consists of three main parts, 1- choosing the right test, 2- understanding what the outputs mean, and 3- refining the outputs into tables and figures.   Statistics is a field where math and people meet, as a result, that intersection can become intricate. Thankfully, there are a plethora of statistical tests to fit any data type.

Communicating

The final step of a statistics project is to convey your findings to others accurately.   Because statics often provides multiple approaches to data analysis, it is essential to communicate your steps, logic, and conclusions to your audience with rigorous detail.
